**Children** is your main working surface. Every child your agency serves lives
here, from the first Referral through to discharge. Open it from the sidebar
and you land straight on your caseload.

What you see depends on your role: admins see the whole agency; members see the
children assigned to them. The list is one ledger; filters and saved views
narrow it without splitting children into separate tabbed lists.

## Find a child [#find-a-child]

* **Search** — type a child's name or EI Hub ID. Press <kbd>/</kbd> from anywhere on the page to jump to the search box.
* **Filter** — narrow the list by region, status, or who a child is assigned to.
* **Group** — group the list by stage or by assigned coordinator to see your work organized.

## Add a child [#add-a-child]

Select **New child** at the top of the list. The only required field is the
child's **EI number** — enter that, and you can fill in the name, date of birth,
and everything else later. The full record opens so you can keep going. See

## Add a referral [#add-a-referral]

Choose **New referral** to record what this Agency sent to the city. Tiny
creates the Child from the first keystroke. See

## How a child moves through your caseload [#how-a-child-moves-through-your-caseload]

**Stage** is the Agency's word for where a child sits. The Agency sets it. Tiny
never computes it. When an ISC Service Authorization is recorded, Stage may
move by the mapping on **Settings → Case stages**. If a Referral does not come
back, change Stage to a canceled one. Each child's Stage is shown on the list
and on the record header.
